This is a new venture for me. Although I consider myself somewhat computer literate, my knowledge base consists of MSWord documents, PowerPoint presentations, I play at Excel, have a FaceBook page and am an intensive web surfer. I am in the field of education and realize I need to be more of an edutainer, making education interesting and relevant. Gone are the days of expecting kids to line up in rows of desks, quietly taking notes as the teacher lectures. That was when there were only three television networks and no remotes. I am old enough to remember that scenario as a child.
Students today have instant knowledge at their finger tips, from cell phones, lap tops to iPads. Who even needs a TV anymore, you can watch it on your phone, what you want and when you want it. That's what teachers compete against. My goal is to master the technology available and bring education curriculum alive with relevance.
